LEED Fellows are best-of-the-best in green building design, engineering and development
Las Vegas, Nevada – October 16, 2017 – Humann Building Solutions, LLC are pleased to announce that Daniel A. Huard, Founding Principal, has been named a 2017 LEED Fellow by the Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). This year’s 23 Fellows are being honored for their outstanding work as LEED Professionals and for the significance of their contributions to the green building community and LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, the world’s most widely used green building rating system. LEED Fellows are recognized as the most exceptional professionals in the green building industry, and it is the most prestigious designation awarded from GBCI.

Huard has shown superb leadership as a green building advocate and has continued to help shift the norm of how the industry plans and builds sustainably. Daniel A. Huard’s work and credibility in the industry has been proven time and time again by his outstanding leadership in the green building movement, and motivates all of us to continue the charge forward in creating sustainable, healthy and connected communities through the built environment.

To be selected, LEED Fellows are nominated by their peers, must have at least 10 years of exceptional impact in the green building industry, hold a LEED AP with specialty credential and undergo an extensive portfolio review, among other requirements. The evaluation process is carried out by the LEED Fellow evaluation committee.A lifelong learning proponent, Daniel has long been a sought‐after Green Building expert. Daniel received degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture and Urban Planning, beyond his professional degrees Daniel holds multiple professional accreditations: LEED AP O+M as well as LEED AP BD+C from Green Business Certification Inc. and now has been elevated to LEED Fellow in 2017, PMP from Project Management Institute, Living Future Accredited from International Living Future Institute, GGA, GGP and GPCP from Green Building Initiative, WELL AP from the International WELL Building Institute in addition to ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional. Daniel’s professional expertise has contributed to numerous domestic and international High Performance Building, Sustainable and Restorative Development projects as well as international events including Greenbuild, WaterBuild, Living Future unConference, WaterSmart Innovations, AdvancedEnergy Conference, Energy Management Congress, CAPAC and Global Gaming Expo to name a few. Daniel has an ongoing commitment to mentoring, service and leadership having contributed to the National Fenestration Ratings Council, International WELL Building Institute, Association of Energy Engineers, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air‐Conditioning Engineers, USGBC Nevada, USGBC Western Regional Council and USGBC National and as well founded the Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative serving as Nevada’s ILFI Ambassador. As a former League of Indian Nations of North America Ambassador to the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Daniel focused on international sustainability programs, social and educational programs and native rights recognition and advocacy.

The recipients will be honored at the 2017 USGBC Leadership Awards Luncheon at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo taking place Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 in Boston . The nomination period for the 2018 LEED Fellows class will open in February 2018.
