Daniel Huard of Humann Building Solutions reconfirmed as Chairperson of 2019 LEED WE TAG
Daniel Huard LEED Fellow, WEEL Faculty and Founding Principal of Humann Building Solutions has again been seated as Chairperson of the USGBC LEED TAG (Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group) for 2019. Huard first served the group in 2016 when he was initially initially selected by the USGBC Board of Directors to represent and contribute. Huard has maintained an active role in the organization and is very respected for his contributions including contributing to the LEED v4 and LEED 4.1 Rating Systems and additionally authoring several articles available for review on the USGBC.org website.
Brendan Owens, P.E., LEED Fellow, Chief of Engineering, US Green Building Council has recommended Daniel’s participation on specialty Water Issues Summits for Purdue University as well as for WaterBuild in 2016, 2017 and 2018 where Daniel was not only a selected presenter but an organizer and adviser as well.
In September 2018 the USGBC Board of Directors confirmed Daniel Huard, LEED Fellow as the USGBC LEED Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group Chairperson with the additional responsibilities of serving on the LEED Technical Committee for his second term.
David Holtzclaw, Ph.D., P.E. and President, Transduction Technologies was confirmed as the vice-chairperson on the LEED Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group and will serve as Daniel’s alternate on the LEED Technical Committee as well for the 2019 term.
November was a busy month for Daniel when he also completed his charge at the 2018 Greenbuild Leadership Awards Celebration being a member of the LEED Fellows Selection Committee. Huard was as well selected and confirmed as a WELL Faculty member and committed to collaborate with NFRC in the furtherance of WELL standard development around Light and Ventilation.
Daniel has been active in Green Building for over 20 years, a commitment that includes his current roles as member of USGBC’s LEED Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group and LEED Technical Committee, USGBC Waterbuild 2016, 2017 and 2018 Summit presenter and program team member, Greenbuild 2016 Host Committee team, NFRC Vice Chair, Director and Governance Chair, ILFI Las Vegas Valley Collaborative LBC Collaborative Founder and Chair. Past commitments to Green Building include: President USGBC Nevada, USGBC Western Regional Council Chair, USGBC NV Chapter Director and Executive Committee member for a term limited six years, USGBC Emerging Professionals Chair -West (South) Region, LEED v4 Rating Systems Regionalization contributing author, Greenbuild International 2013, 2014, Program Review Team and Presenter, Living Future 2014, 2015, 2016 Program Review Team, Living Future 2015, 2016, 2017 Presenter, ILFI 2013, 2014, 2015, 2106, 2017 Project Summit and Ambassador Summit, in addition to Technical Subject Matter Expert to the US Department of the Interior since 2009.
Daniel Huard, LEED Fellow holds many GBCI as well as numerous other professional designations and as is indicative of this blog post continues to USGBC as well as many other professional organizations in many roles.
A lifelong learning proponent, Daniel has long been a sought‐after Green Building expert providing Keynote Presentations and Education all over the planet. Daniel received degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Masters of Architecture and Masters of Urban Planning. Beyond professional degrees Daniel professional accreditations include: LEED Fellow with LEED AP O+M and LEED AP BD+C credential specialties from GBCI, CPMP – ASHRAE Commissioning Process Management Professional, PMP from Project Management Institute, LFA from International Living Future Institute, GGA, GGP and GPCP from GBI and WELL Faculty and WELL AP from IWBI. Daniel’s professional expertise has contributed to numerous domestic and international High-Performance Building, Sustainable and Restorative Development projects and international events.
