Huard to Present at Global Gaming Expo on Sustainable Hospitality

09-15-2014 – Humann Building Solutions principal Daniel Huard has long been a sought‐after Green Building Expert, as a result Global Gaming Expo inquired if he would put together a presentation that addressed Sustainability in Hospitality with the ability to focus on Resort and Gaming properties. Huard as 2014 President of USGBC Nevada reached out to his fellow board members to join him to present at Global Gaming Expo on the topic. Huard put together a presentation on Sustainability in Hospitality that highlights many best practices in a short introduction to an interactive panel presentation in an open format that invites audience participation. Huard as the Green Building Expert will present the introductory framing background then moderate panelists which include Dennis Berlien the Regional Managing Partner of Glumac Engineers one of the most respected green focused MEP firms, Todd McGrath Director of Sustainable Development at MGM Resorts International who focuses on Sustainable Procurement and Sustainable Operations and, Dr. Herve Mazzocco of Ra Energie a Renewable Energy firm who specializes in large scale renewable energy systems.

Daniel has been an active Green Building Expert for over 25 years, with an ongoing commitment to mentoring, service and leadership contributing to National Fenestration Rating Council as their 2017 and 2018 Board of Directors Vice Chair and Governance Chair, IWBI, ASHRAE, Association of Energy Engineers, USGBC’s LEED Technical Committee, USGBC Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group as their 2018 Committee Chair, former – USGBC Western Regional Council Chairperson, USGBC Nevada President, and as well founded the Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative serving as Nevada’s ILFI Ambassador. Daniel as well currently serves the U.S. DOE contributing to their Building Envelope Tech Team and has served as Technical Subject Matter Expert to the US Department of the Interior since 2009. As a former League of Indian Nations of North America Ambassador to the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Daniel focused on international sustainability programs, social and educational programs and native rights recognition and advocacy.
