Humann Building Solutions Principal Recognized
Today at the Desert Green Awards Luncheon Humann Building Solutions Principal Daniel Huard was recognized by the American Society of Landscape Architects – Nevada Chapter. Annually the American Society of Landscape Architects Nevada Chapter presents an “Award of Appreciation for Outstanding Contribution to Landscape Architecture and the Green Industry in Southern Nevada”.
In the description of why Daniel Huard, Humann Building Solutions Principal was selected to receive this award the current NSLANV President Brad Theurer, ASLA, RLA provided Daniel has been a great proponent of the Landscape Architecture Profession as well as an advocate for collaboration between ASLANV and US Green Building Council Nevada. Further Daniel’s freely shares his knowledge and accomplishments with our chapter and is a regular presenter at our membership meetings.

Desert Green is an Annual Southwest Regional Conference attended by Landscape Architects, Arbourists and Horticultural Professionals and Product Suppliers from Nevada, California, Arizona and Utah held this year in Henderson, Nevada. The Desert Green Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to education for the green industry.
# Daniel Huard has been an active Green Building Expert for over 25 years, with an ongoing commitment to mentoring, service and leadership contributing to National Fenestration Rating Council as their 2017 and 2018 Board of Directors Vice Chair and Governance Chair, IWBI, ASHRAE, Association of Energy Engineers, USGBC’s LEED Technical Committee, USGBC Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group as their 2018 Committee Chair, former – USGBC Western Regional Council Chairperson, USGBC Nevada President, and as well founded the Las Vegas Valley Living Building Challenge Collaborative serving as Nevada’s ILFI Ambassador. Daniel as well currently serves the U.S. DOE contributing to their Building Envelope Tech Team and has served as Technical Subject Matter Expert to the US Department of the Interior since 2009. As a former League of Indian Nations of North America Ambassador to the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Daniel focused on international sustainability programs, social and educational programs and native rights recognition and advocacy.
